Our Founding Story
The story of Eleven Carpets isn't just the story of a company, it's a story of grit, passion, and legacy. It began long before the brand had a name, before the first logo was drawn or the first international order was placed. It began with a young man and a dream, stitched into the fibres of tradition, hard work, and quiet ambition.
Early 1990s
In the early 1990s, Mr Ravindra Maurya was just 20 years old when he stepped
into the world of carpets not through a boardroom, but through the hands-on grind of labour,
side by side with his own father. Back then, the family mostly do cleaning and finishing of
carpets, just enough to make a living and get through the day. It wasn't glamorous, but it
was honest. Every fibre cleaned, every carpet brushed to perfection, taught him something
money couldn't buy - discipline, precision, and respect for craftsmanship.
As he toiled through the years, he wasn't just learning how to clean a carpet, he was
developing a deep understanding of what made a carpet truly exceptional. He observed how
colors came to life with care, how textures told stories, and how even the smallest stitch
carried purpose. What began as work soon became a passion
Late 1990s - Early 2000s
By the late 1990s and early 2000s, that passion began to evolve. He didn't
want to just finish carpets made by others, he wanted to create them. Slowly, he began
exploring the intricate world of carpet manufacturing. What started with curiosity turned
into a calling. With no grand factory or major capital behind him, just vision and courage,
he decided to take the leap.
He began his manufacturing journey with 4 handlooms dedicated to Tibetan hand-knotted
carpets, an art form known for its richness and craftsmanship and 3 looms for hand-tufted
rugs, blending traditional techniques with modern design needs. These weren't just machines,
they were the building blocks of something greater.
From the humble beginnings of a small manufacturing unit, he started taking custom orders
for businesses, building relationships based on trust, quality, and word-of-mouth
excellence. His approach was always clear: quality before quantity, trust before
transaction. His hands-on knowledge from years of carpet handling gave him a unique edge in
quality control, design execution, and client satisfaction.
2012
Then, in 2012, that dream finally took shape into a brand "Eleven Carpets".
The name reflected not just a business, but a belief: that carpets are not just floor
coverings, but statements of culture, identity, and luxury. Although the company was
officially registered under the proprietorship of his wife, Mrs Anita Maurya, the vision,
leadership, and daily operations were all led by Mr. Ravindra Maurya.
Since then, Eleven Carpets has grown to represent more than just product excellence. It
stands as a symbol of generational expertise, with over 30+ years of deep-rooted experience
and a commitment to keeping the art of handmade carpets alive in a fast-changing world.
Today, whether it's a minimalist modern home or a luxury hotel, Eleven Carpets is chosen by
those who value legacy, art, and authenticity.
This is not a story of overnight success. This is a story of a man who started with a brush and a bucket, and turned that into looms, orders, factories, and finally a brand that reflects both craft and character. It's a story of a father who built a legacy, not just for clients or markets, but for his family and future generations.
At Eleven Carpets, we don't just sell rugs. We weave stories, just like this one, made from patience, purpose, and pride.

Mr. Ravindra Maurya
Founder & Visionary
My journey began not in an office, but on the workshop floor. I learned this craft from the ground up,
cleaning and finishing carpets alongside my father. Those early years taught me that true excellence
comes from understanding every fiber, every knot, and every process."
"When I started Eleven Carpets, it wasn't just about building a business. It was about preserving an art
form, creating opportunities for artisans, and bringing the soul of handmade craftsmanship into homes
around the world."
